The rented apartment is a spacious, bright, 8-meter-wide duplex apartment with a large garage and a charming garden featuring a herb garden and a small organic vegetable garden. Everything except your bedroom is shared (kitchen, living room with a separate dining area). There is also a smaller additional space for various purposes, such as private visits, lodging, workspace, practice, etc. There are two bathrooms, each with a toilet (one has a shower, the other a bathtub).

Personal space

The room on the 1st floor, garden side SE, is located next to the small bathroom. This room is approximately 12 square meters and can be furnished to your liking (so not furnished). Smoking is not allowed in the house.

I think someone over 40 would feel more at home than someone younger, but everything is negotiable. A quiet but sociable person is preferred. Someone who preferably has a conscious approach to life.

I'd like someone who loves people and takes care of each other and the house. (Maintenance tasks will be shared.)

Someone who enjoys gardening would be very welcome. (Possibly also in the organic community garden in Deurne.) Someone who enjoys being creative with healthy food and whipping up delicious meals is certainly welcome.

Sien: a quiet, sensitive retired woman, creative, for example, inventing and testing recipes for healthy meals (although she is a flexitarian). She has a conscious approach to life and values meaning and open communication. She is sociable and enjoys company. She is warm-hearted and enjoys meeting new people of all ages. She has been in a relationship with Norbert for a while now and alternates between being with her partner and him. He is an incredible handyman and also enjoys gardening.

These things we like to do togther

I call it family cohabitation; conviviality is paramount in our home, and cooking together and sharing a meal at the table is very welcome.

In the summer, it's wonderful to eat together in the garden and enjoy the barbecue. Helping out in the garden is also very welcome. (I've recently even rented an extra garden near Deurne for a vegetable patch, which I enjoy working on with Norbert.)

Watching a movie together, taking a walk or bike ride in the neighborhood, a trip to Antwerp or beyond, shopping together, etc. is always more fun as a couple than alone.

We are creative flexitarians; our meals are always surprising. You can, of course, also choose not to eat together. Or occasionally cook for yourself. (Clear agreements are important, of course.)

Contract by mutual agreement with a 3-month trial period. Thereafter, it can be canceled annually, each time with 3 months' notice.

Room price: €385 + €125 fixed costs = €495 total.

Close to Wijnegem Shopping Center, Carrefour, Aldi, and Albert Heijn supermarkets, the Dobbelhoeve organic store, the beautiful Schildehof park, and, a little further away, Vrieselhof in Oelegem. The municipality offers a wide range of cultural and sports activities.

Access

Public transport is readily available nearby (bus 40 provides a good connection to Antwerp, tram 10 and tram 5 run in Wijnegem, there's a bus to Mortsel, and there's also a local service to Malle). The beautiful Schilde Park is within walking distance, as are several shops. Several supermarkets are easily accessible by bike.
