Our house has four floors with two bedrooms and three studios. Everyone has their own bathroom. The house also has three toilets, a large office space, and a living room with a fireplace, a comfy sofa, a brand-new TV with a Bose system, internet, Netflix, and Apple TV. We have a large kitchen with two large refrigerators and one freezer, all the appliances you need for a three-course meal, a large, handmade designer dining table for eight (ideal for guests), and a cozy round table (also homemade) for four in the morning. We also have a laundry room, a spacious garden with many plants, flowers, and birds, a covered terrace with a lounge chair, and a jacuzzi. There's also an indoor swimming pool with a pool house, sauna, and steam room. We also have green thumbs, and besides strawberries, we're currently busy planting new plants in the garden.

The communal costs are shared by the five residents and amount to €125 per person. This includes water, gas, electricity, unlimited internet, streaming, and our cleaning lady who comes by every two weeks. You certainly don't have to worry about cleaning products, toilet paper rolls, garbage bags, taking out the trash, or trips to the recycling center. Talk about a hotel service... :)

You can park your bike and car in the driveway.

Oh yeah, and I forgot: We live on a very sociable street with great neighbors! More and more young people are moving in too. What more could you want?

Welcome to our Mechelen co-housing facility, "Cocoen." We strive to be the most complete and luxurious co-housing in Mechelen. Our house is located just a stone's throw from the station in a quiet neighborhood. We've been co-housing here for three years now, with three to five people (some housemates are often away). A 40m² studio will be available from October 1st/November 1st, 2025.

The room is fully furnished and features a brand-new kitchenette with a microwave and a private ensuite bathroom (also brand-new). The studio costs €925 per month + €125 in common fees = €1050/month. This includes the use of the house, wellness facilities, and all shared appliances. Think of washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, mixers, Nespresso coffee machine, regular coffee machine, oven/microwave, steam oven, toaster, kettle, panini machine, cutlery, glasses... If anything is missing, it will simply be purchased.

Something more about your co-residents

There are five of us living here together. Three great guys and two women. We're 28, 31, 35, 36, and 41, but we all feel like we're in our twenties. What do we all do? The man of the house is a true McGuyver (he fixes everything that breaks), our youngest is an HR manager at a pharmaceutical company, the newest is an IT security specialist and chef, a marketing/photographer/artist, and we have a flight attendant (she's leaving soon).

We're open, flexible, and we enjoy a good laugh, but we can also talk about serious matters. We don't care what you do, as long as you enjoy it. Everyone is welcome.
