The room is located on the second floor of a 250m² house, which sleeps a maximum of four people (there are four rooms, three toilets, and two bathrooms). Currently, there are three Dutch-speaking Belgians. The shared 40m² kitchen is fully equipped. There's a shared 60m² garden (east-facing) with a stone patio and a modern, comfortable patio table. The many plants and flowers, both indoors and outdoors, are well cared for (if you have a green thumb, you're always welcome to lend a hand ;-)). The shared 25m² basement is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, ironing board, iron, and several drying racks; you're welcome to bring a drying rack to your room for privacy. There's also ample storage space in the basement for suitcases and other items. All transport is within 150 m (trams and buses, two metro stations are an 8-minute walk or just three minutes by tram), and the center of Jette—with all its shops—is 250 m away. All common areas—the kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, hallway, stairs, etc.—are cleaned weekly.

Personal space

The room measures 25m² and is fully furnished: a double bed, a very spacious and practical wardrobe, a private desk, a desk chair, a large sofa with cushions, and carpet. If desired, we can remove some items and place them in the basement, except for the bed, wardrobe, and large sofa. The entire room has parquet flooring and overlooks our quiet one-way street. It's beautifully bright and sunny thanks to four windows. There's hardly any direct contact (our neighbors, who are few in number, always keep their windows blacked out). Strong, unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. Next to the room is the bathroom, shared by two people. It has a bathtub and a shower and ample space for personal hygiene items and towels. Each resident has a private sink. A toilet (shared between two people) is also located on the same floor. Each room is cleaned biweekly by our regular cleaning lady. She cleans all common areas and two rooms weekly. She cleans the other two rooms the following week.

We are looking for someone who

We'd like someone who's calm, easygoing, communicative, open, respectful, and friendly. We (3 people) are quiet people and appreciate respect for each other, our space, and our privacy. We value good, clear communication (important!) and a sense of humor. No partygoers, please, and preferably no younger than 30. Preferably someone who works and travels frequently (we primarily offer a private residence in a pleasant setting, not necessarily an office space ;-)).

Lieven, 48, Belgian and homeowner, has lived in Brussels for 24 years and speaks Dutch, French, English, Russian, and Polish (I've lived in Poland, Ukraine, and Russia). I work part-time as a residential counselor in a home for people with intellectual disabilities in northern Brussels and am interested in psychology, spirituality, classical music, and walking and hiking in the city or countryside. Sarah, 38, Flemish with Moroccan-Spanish roots from Ghent, has lived with us for two years. She speaks Dutch, English, and French and works as a backup singer for Selah Sue, Kate Ryan, and Metejoor, among others. She enjoys cooking and eating vegetarian. She sometimes tours domestically and internationally. Alex, 48, Belgian, speaks Dutch, French, and English and has lived with us for one year. He works as a psychologist, enjoys embodiment practices and Buddhism, and exploring nature in his campervan.

These things we like to do togther

A calm, peaceful, and friendly atmosphere. Everyone cooks according to their needs in the large communal kitchen. Sometimes this is done together, sometimes something is organized in advance. We can go to the nearby market together or go for a walk. Friends are welcome, and it's sometimes possible to stay overnight (we ask that you don't overdo it).
