Welcome to Bernheimbeuk – a peaceful home surrounded by greenery, a cozy semi-detached house, surrounded by old, stately beech trees. The house has a large garden with a patio and a sunny front terrace – perfect for enjoying peace and quiet, yet not far from the city.
The house has three floors. On the ground floor, you'll find the open-plan living room and kitchen, which flow into each other, as well as a toilet. There's a spacious terrace at both the front and back, with a view of the greenery at the rear.
On the first floor are my bedroom, office, small sitting area, and the bathroom, with both a shower and a bathtub.
The room I'm renting out is on the second floor. It's a spacious and bright room with plenty of privacy. Adjacent to the room is my storage room, which houses the dryer, among other things. So, I'll need to go through it occasionally, but of course, this is subject to consultation.
What we share:
The kitchen and living area on the ground floor
The garden and both terraces
Bathroom (shower, bath, sink, toilet)
Separate toilet
Washing machine and dryer
You'll be living here with me (I'm a yoga teacher and work partly from home), in a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. I'm looking for someone who also appreciates a pleasant, tidy environment and enjoys living together in a peaceful setting – with plenty of room for everyone's own rhythm and lifestyle.
Personal space
The room is located on the second floor, under the eaves, and is spacious and bright thanks to two windows overlooking the trees – you literally wake up surrounded by greenery.
There are wooden floors, and the high ceiling creates an open feeling. The room is furnished with a double bed, desk, clothes rack, and a closet – ready to move in.
Thanks to its location under the eaves, the room stays surprisingly cool in the summer. Because the house is largely built of wood, you can sometimes hear some noise (such as creaking floors or loud talking), but that's part of the charm of a wooden house.
The room is adjacent to my storage room, where the dryer is located. Every now and then, I have to go through there to get something or do laundry – this is always done respectfully and with due consideration.
What can you expect in terms of cleanliness?
A cozy space with some clutter every now and then.

We are looking for someone who
I'm looking for a quiet, caring roommate for the period starting in December. I prefer short-term rentals (3-4 months), but an extension is certainly negotiable.
You appreciate a peaceful living environment and appreciate a certain order in the common areas. You work outside or in your room during the day, and you contribute to a pleasant atmosphere at home through small actions: tidying up after use, closing doors quietly, and respecting each other's space and routines.
Smoking and large parties are not suitable for this location. Occasional over-guests are certainly possible, but this is negotiable.
Because I work early in the morning, peace and quiet at home—especially after 10 p.m.—is important.
Bernheimbeuk is a peaceful home for someone who appreciates simplicity, nature, and a bit of tranquility—with the comfort of a comfortable bed, a garden with trees, and a roommate who takes care of the place.

Something more about your co-residents
I live here alone with Blanche, my sweet Labradoodle. She's gentle, calm, doesn't bark much, and usually lies contentedly somewhere nearby. A loyal housemate with a big heart. Nero, the cat, also recently moved in. The garden is his paradise, although he sometimes comes inside to enjoy himself.
I teach yoga and start my days early; my morning routine begins at 6 a.m. I teach in the afternoon and sometimes in the evening. In between, I often work from home on my computer.
I love hiking, yoga, nature, climbing, animals, traveling, and… A good conversation or a nice drink together can certainly please me, although the house itself doesn't have to be very social or busy.
My boyfriend stays here occasionally, and I stay with him regularly as well. I'm a vegetarian and prefer to share the house with someone who shares that same mindset or at least uses meat responsibly. I also try to be mindful of the bigger picture with my energy and water consumption.
These things we like to do togther
The atmosphere in the house is peaceful, warm, and open. It's a place you feel at home, not a place you have to be constantly "on." There's room for silence, for peace, but also for a spontaneous chat in the kit
